PRIMARY FOCUS
The Communications Consultant is a key member of the Marketing & Communications division at LutherCare Communities (LCC), responsible for executing communications strategies that support organizational priorities, operational goals, and a resident‑first culture. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, this role translates strategic direction into clear, coordinated, and measurable communications plans and deliverables across internal and external audiences.
At LutherCare, communications is not about pushing content, it is about building trust, creating clarity, and ensuring alignment across a complex, multi-site organization. The Communications Consultant plays a central role in helping leaders and teams stay informed, connected, and supported through consistent, accurate, and timely communication.
Working cross-functionally with all divisions, the role plans, develops, and delivers communications initiatives that align with organizational priorities, reinforce brand standards, and support decision-making. This includes content development, campaign execution, stakeholder engagement, and performance monitoring, as well as contributing to the creation of authentic stories through written, visual, and digital content.
This role contributes to organizational success by enabling clear communication that supports engagement, strengthens reputation, and helps drive key outcomes such as occupancy, team alignment, and continuous improvement across LutherCare Communities
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Strategic Alignment:
- Contributes to the development of divisional strategies by identifying emerging issues, trends, and opportunities in communications and stakeholder engagement
- Translates organizational priorities into clear communications plans, campaigns, and materials that are aligned, actionable, and measurable
- Ensures communications strategies are results-focused, with defined objectives, key messages, and performance indicators
- Aligns all communications initiatives with LCC’s strategic plan, operational priorities, and resident-first culture
- Stakeholder Relationship Management:
- Builds and maintain effective internal relationships, partnerships and alliances that support strong engagement and cross-functional management throughout the organization
- Builds, fosters, and maintains effective external relationships and partnerships
- Fosters communication and a healthy relationship with residents, visitors, and families
- Position Functions:
- Leads the development and execution of communications plans, materials, and campaigns across internal and external channels
- Supports the positioning of initiatives and messages to influence audiences, support change, and address complex issues
- Maintains and applies LCC’s brand and visual identity standards across all communications outputs
- Contributes to the development and ongoing management of content strategy, editorial calendars, and communications workflows
- Collects, analyzes, and reports on communications metrics (engagement, reach, effectiveness) and uses data to inform continuous improvement
- Supports the development and refinement of communications processes, tools, and standards to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Coordinates with cross-functional teams to ensure messaging is accurate, consistent, and aligned to operational priorities
- Reporting:
- Prepares clear, concise, and actionable reports using qualitative and quantitative data
- Provides regular updates on communications initiatives, risks, and opportunities
- Supports the development of materials for ELT, OLT, Board, and external stakeholders
- Ensures reporting aligns with organizational requirements, including government and regulatory expectations
- Communications Operations & Measurement:
- Establishes and maintains communication tracking, reporting, and evaluation processes
- Monitors and reports on communications performance through defined metrics and dashboards
- Supports quarterly and annual reporting on communications effectiveness and outcomes
- Identifies opportunities to improve communications processes, tools, and systems
- Ensures alignment between communications outputs, stakeholder needs, and organizational priorities
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field, equivalent combination of education and experience
- Professional designation (or near completion)
- Licensed and in good standing with professional association and/or regulatory body, if applicable
Experience:
- 3+ years working in Communications or media development
- Experience in a multi-stakeholder environment with multiple locations
- Experience working with Federal and Provincial Governments
- Experience working with First Nation and Metis communities
- Experience in a hybrid organization (for-profit and not-for-profit) would be considered an asset
- Experience in a health-care sector would be considered an asset
- Experience in a housing sector would be considered an asset
