PRIMARY FOCUS
As the Project Manager, you are part of a team that makes a difference by providing exceptional leadership in a resident-first culture. With a professional and strategic approach, you drive projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, and budgets. As a member of our caring team, you will make a difference at the individual, organizational and community level through the achievement of strategy and organizational goals.
1. Strategic Alignment:
- Support the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) managing project functions and addressing project-related challenges.
- Provide leadership, direction, and execution in managing projects, including planning, coordinating, monitoring, and reporting, to ensure successful project delivery that that align to the strategic plan and LCC’s priorities and directives
- Develop and demonstrate leadership capabilities and commitment to the culture of resident-first and continuous learning.
2. Stakeholder Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain effective internal relationships, partnerships, and alliances that support strong engagement and cross-functional management throughout the organization
- Build, foster, and maintain effective external relationships and partnerships
- Foster communication and a healthy relationship with residents, visitors and families.
3. Leadership:
- Lead and manage projects, ensuring alignment to organizational objectives.
- Define project goals, scope, deliverables, timelines, and budget in alignment with the organization's strategic goals
- Lead by promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the organisation
- Ensure optimal allocation and utilization of resources, including human, financial, and technological assets.
- Identify potential risks and develop risk management plans, including contingency measures to mitigate issues
- Foster a collaborative environment, encouraging open communication, accountability, and problem-solving.
- Provide timely updates on project progress, issues, risks, and changes, ensuring all stakeholders are well-informed.
4. Position Functions:
- Define Project Scope by establishing the objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resources required for the project.
- Develop Project Plan by creating detailed project plans, including milestones, deadlines, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Develop and manage the Project Budget and ensure the project remains within budget
- Inspire, lead, and guide the project in achieving project goals by efficiency and timely delivery
- Provide ongoing support and mentorship by offering training opportunities to team members for newly implemented systems and software
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the project with internal & external stakeholders, throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure that project deliverables meet the required quality standards by conducting regular quality checks and reviews
- Continuously evaluate processes and implement improvements to enhance project efficiency, quality, and outcomes
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of project processes, decisions, and changes for reference and future learning
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify successes, challenges, and areas for improvement, sharing insights with the organization.
- Ensure that all project activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Adhere to organizational project management policies, processes, and best practices
- Ensure the protection of sensitive project information, including financial details, and internal processes, by adhering to organizational privacy policies and confidentiality agreements.
5. Reporting:
- Prepare reports to the CFO using qualitative and quantitative data
- Apprise the CFO of portfolio and province-wide operations, developments, and initiatives
- Prepare and deliver reports to ELT, OLT, and management teams in support of a cross-functional team
- Prepare material for presentation to the ELT, internal committees, and external partners
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related fields.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Licensed and in good standing with professional association and/or regulatory body, if applicable
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in managing projects of varying complexity and size.
- Proven experience managing IT projects
- Proven experience managing major infrastructure, construction projects would be an asset
- Hands-on experience with all phases of the project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Experience in a multi-stakeholder environment with multiple locations.
- Experience in a hybrid organization (for-profit and not-for-profit) would be considered an asset
- Experience working with Federal and Provincial Governments
- Experience working with First Nation and Metis communities
- Experience in a health-care sector would be considered an asset
- Experience in a housing sector would be considered an asset
