 The Position:

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for the front office management, day-to-day courteous & efficient flow of communication between tenants, staff, visitors and others at Luther Tower. They will assist the Housing Manager as directed and practice tactfulness, discretion and confidentiality. This position requires a clear understanding of LutherCare Communities and more specifically, the Housing Division. Responsibilities include provide accounting, typing, clerical, data management, and computer services as required within the normal scope of the job.

The Applicants:

Applicants would typically qualify for this position with the below qualifications, knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Completion of a recognized office administration or accounting program or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in an administrative assistant role
  • Previous experience in accounts payable and receivable
  • Experience working with seniors an asset
  • Fluently able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Excellent administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets and accounting programs including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform bookkeeping and administrative duties with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
  • Ability to maintain a high degree judgement, discretion and confidentiality.
  • Effectively manages time, and priorities while positively responding to interruptions through the day
  • Tactfully and pleasantly responds to tenants, staff and the public
  • Consistently displays independence and initiative.
  • Positively adapts to change and seeks out opportunities for quality improvement
