Join Our Team as an Activity Coordinator:

In line with LutherCare Communities' Vision, Mission, and Values, we are actively seeking a passionate Activity Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role involves planning, coordinating, and facilitating educational, social, recreational, and wellness activities for tenants and Team Members. The position also entails organizing various programs with flexibility in working hours, occasionally extending beyond regular day shifts to include evenings or weekends.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Education
  • Post-secondary experience in a related discipline (e.g., Therapeutic Recreation Diploma)
  • Valid driver’s license and clear driver’s abstract

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience working effectively with seniors, preferably in a recreation programming capacity
  • Excellent administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in word processing and spreadsheets, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and MS Publisher
  • Sensitivity, patience, and concern in providing quality service to residents
  • Positive adaptability to change and a proactive approach to quality improvement
  • Effective collaboration with tenants, committees, contractors, and other departments of LCC
  • Time and priority management skills with the ability to respond positively to multiple interruptions
  • Independent work capability and initiative-taking
  • Creativity in developing programs with limited resources
  • Knowledge of principles of Gerontology
  • Willingness to operate the transport bus
