The Position:

In support of the Vision, Mission and Values of LutherCare Communities, we are seeking a Community Service Worker to join our Group Home team. Applicants will be responsible for the personal care and safety of clients and for the implementation of individual lifestyle plans.

Duties and Responsibilities of Group Home Workers include three main areas:

  • Resident Care – Includes assistance of personal hygiene (bathing, toileting, dressing, eating etc.)
  • Resident Programming – Includes the facilitation of resident daily living activities and participation in the community.
  • Home Maintenance – Includes housekeeping, laundry and the preparation of meals and snacks

Wage: This position starts at $16.49 per hour.

The Applicants:

Applicants would typically qualify for this position through the completion of a grade 12 education with previous experience working with developmentally challenged adults in a residential setting.  A Disability Support Worker (Rehabilitation Worker) course, Special Care Aide course or equivalent education is preferred.  Sign language is desirable. The incumbent must complete Basic Skills Training as provided by LCC. Applicants must be available to work shifts that include days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Applicants must possess good interpersonal skills and be able to interpret, read, write and speak English fluently.
