The Position:

In support of the Vision, Mission and Values of LCC, we are seeking a Personal Care Worker to join our team. The Personal Care Worker is responsible for the care and service required to meet the need of our residents at Luther Riverside Terrace - Intermediate Care Home.  Responsibilities stem from three main areas:

  • Resident Care: Includes the assistance of personal hygiene as well as encouraging residents to maintain independence
  • Resident Programming: Includes the facilitation of resident daily living activities and participation in the community
  • Home Maintenance: Includes housekeeping, laundry and the preparation of meals and snacks

The Applicants:

Applicants would typically qualify for this position through the completion of a grade 12 and previous experience working with seniors. Experience providing dementia care is an asset. Successful applicants will be required to complete a two-day Personal Care Home Worker course, Basic First Aid (no CPR), and Food Safe within the first three months of employment.  Applicants must possess good interpersonal skills and be able to interpret, read, write and speak English fluently as well as have a positive attitude toward cooking, cleaning and care of seniors.
