The Position:

The Advocate Services Coordinator is responsible for the overall development, coordination and implementation of the Advocate Services program within the Home Support department. The Advocate Services Coordinator is responsible for providing Advocate services to all LutherCare Communities sites, including supporting Tenant services, Intermediate Care Homes, Housing, and the residents of LutherCare.

Applicants qualifying for this position must have a bachelor’s degree in social work or equivalent experience in gerontology, a valid driver’s license as well as access to a vehicle and insurance.  The incumbent will have a minimum of 2 years experience in community social work and gerontology, minimum 2 years experience in assessment criteria and minimum of 2 years working with seniors. The successful applicant will have the ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently, have the ability to work unsupervised and have knowledge of the physical, psychological and spiritual aspects of aging as they affect health and lifestyle. They will also have knowledge of dementia care and community services available to seniors.\
